I'm Experiencing an Error, What Do I Do?

At Berify, we strive to ensure a seamless and error-free experience. However, there may be times when you encounter an issue while using our app. Below, we’ll cover the two most common errors and provide guidance on how to resolve them.

1. "Error Not Berified"

<br>

This error appears when the Berify app is unable to verify a product. It could indicate a variety of issues, including:

  • A fake tag that does not belong to the Berify network.
  • A connection issue with your device or the Berify servers.
  • Blockchain verification errors preventing the tag from validating.
  • A damaged NFC tag that cannot be scanned properly.

Steps to Resolve:

  • Check your internet connection: Ensure you’re connected to a stable Wi-Fi or cellular network.
  • Try scanning again: Tap "Try Again" to reinitiate the scan.
  • Inspect the tag: Look for physical damage or wear that may prevent proper scanning.
  • Verify authenticity: If the tag appears fake or counterfeit, confirm the product was purchased from an authorized source.
  • Contact Berify Support: If the issue persists, contact our support team for further assistance.

2. "Inactive Tag"

<br>

This error indicates that the NFC tag you scanned has not been activated. Common causes include:

  • The tag was not activated by the brand before distribution.
  • The tag has not been linked to a product in the Berify system.

Steps to Resolve:

  • Contact the retailer or brand: Confirm whether the tag is meant to be active and request activation if necessary.
  • Retry scanning: Tap "Go back to scan" and try scanning the tag again to ensure the error is consistent.
  • Inspect the tag: Ensure the NFC tag is not physically damaged or defective.
  • Brands Only: If you are a Berify client, double-check in your dashboard that the tag has been properly activated and linked to the correct product.
